I’m curious about the different preferences people have regarding buying trilogy sets vs each individual movie.
For example, I tend to prefer each movie having its own artwork/case and place on the shelf, but I’m starting to notice that oftentimes the trilogy set is cheaper overall than buying each individual movie (first examples I can think of are MIB and The Hangover trilogies). A little while ago I bought both 21 and 22 Jump Street each individually on Blu-ray even though the 2-movie set was cheaper overall, and I find it’s a cooler look that each one has its own packaging I can see when I look at my collection.
While I completely understand that buying trilogy sets is usually much better value for money, I’m still not sold on it because of how it takes away from the individuality of each movie.
What do you all tend to do?
