Blood transfusion

Anyone had experiences with blood transfusions, did it help? What did change? Did you feel better or just more energy or not much of a difference? Did it help the healing your colon?

I have had severe anemia for a few months now and have had 3 iron infusions that barely made a difference, GI is considering a blood transfusion

Three weeks ago I had my first infliximab IV, one week ago I had my second(double dose). After each IV my frequency goes down from 7/day to 4/day and about 80% less blood, but after a few days it all comes back.

My GI wants me to go start conversations about a colectomy but wants me to first try Rinvoq, he also still wants to give Infliximab a try but it scares me that I he mentioned a rinvoq or a colectomy. I’ve been in a flare for 8 months now and only the past three months have been bad, the first 5 months I had a lot of blood but was living a normal life. Now I haven’t left the house in months.

I have only tried velsipity before infliximab. Do you think infliximab still has a chance to put me in remission? I see alot of people say that they get better really quickly or at last after the third dose, but since my second was a double dose that would be the equivalent of three loading doses no?

Just a bit scared.

Fyi I’m a 25 male who doesn’t really respond to steroids
