Hello,
I've been accepted to Davis and I am extremely nervous about ochem. I took ochem 1 at a cc but dropped it. I know my schools version of ochem very well, I was scoring decently on exams - by decent, I meant like I had a 74 or 76 I think, but I'm pretty sure I would have passed if I actually did my assignments and turned them in. But I didn't, so my grade dropped to a D which is why I dropped the class. Yes, I dropped ochem, not cause of the material, but cause I didn't turn in assignments. The material was not tooo hard to understand, not because I'm a good student, but because I have had experience with ochem before. So because of that, I wasn't going insane cause I was struggling to understand the material. Except stereochemistry, I hated that. So yeah, I feel like I have a decent understanding on o-chem 1, at least my ccs version. NOT ochem 2, im sure that will be insanely hard and horrible.
But yeah, I accepted davis thinking there was a chance I could still take ochem at my cc because I am extremely very very very nervous about ochem and if its hard at a cc, idk how hard it'll be at uc davis. All my friends took it at cc and passed and HEAVILY discourage me taking it at uc davis, but idk now I think its unavoidable because everyone I talk to is basically saying I cant take it at a cc.
So, basically, please tell me your experience in ochem at uc davis. How was it? How hard was it? For my fellow students who struggle with school and basically cant fathom what it means to have A's like me, did you pass first try or need to retake? What were the average exam scores in your classes? What professors to go for, whom to avoid? Also, ochem as a whole is 3 classes right? And I've only been in semester system, how was taking ochem in a quarter system?
I would really appreciate the help, thank you!
