I’ve spoken with a couple of dealerships in my area and neither are taking vehicles right now for the battery recall, since they only have one technician handling all the cases. And this morning I was told that if the car fails the initial battery test they have to keep the car until the new battery comes in, which is expected to take 2-3 months.
Oh, and they can’t give me a loaner because I didn’t purchase the car from them. I just moved to the area and purchased from a dealership about 8.5 hrs drive away. I wonder if they would give me a loaner…
Is anyone else having a similar experience? If so, what are the options for having a vehicle to drive in the case that your vehicle is deemed unsafe and commandeered by the dealership?
VW should really be considering solutions for this possible scenario.
