HellOpeth fellow enthusiasts,

I generally don't like post/math/prog music at all and also tried Opeth in the past without succes. Three weeks ago I had a reality shattering amount of edibles and Spotify algorithm'd The Leper Affinity my way and that riff at 2.14 BLEW ME AWAY!

I got so obsessed with the song I decided do start listening to their entire discography, which I finished last week. Their entire catalogue gave me 8 songs that immediately quenched my thirst for Mo'peth. I've been listening to them on repeat all week now.

Here's the thing. I feel like I might have missed some gems in the process. I hope you actual connoisseurs can provide me with some songs I HAVE to give a few more listens, based on the songs I like the most.

My top 8, mostly in order of how obsessively I've been listening to them.

  1. The Leper Affinity

  2. Ghost of Perdition

  3. The Funeral Portrait

  4. Sorceress

  5. Heir Apparent

  6. The Apostle of Triumph

  7. The Twilight is my Robe

  8. In the Mist she was standing.

All of the other songs didn't quite capture me as much after one or multiple listens. I hope you can change my mind!
