25k on the clock and my front tyres are cracking.

Wrote to Bridgestone and the response below:

"Thank you for providing images of the concern with your Bridgestone tyres,  I have now had an opportunity to examine the images supplied and can advise as per the below.

Cracking is caused by oxidation of the rubber, which causes the rubber to become more brittle, and crack under stress.  Ageing of the rubber is accelerated by exposure to certain factors, such as sunlight, sea air, contaminants (including tyre blacking agents), and ozone (which can come from motor exhaust and electrical motors).

Also, oxidation of the tyre is possible when the rubber is under stress, the more stress the tyre is under, the more likely the tyre will suffer from oxidation. Tyres which are run with insufficient pressure are more likely to crack in this manner.

From the images I can also see the tyres are wearing on the outer shoulders . this indicates an issue with the vehicle's alignment.

The tyres appear to have been coated in tyre blacking agent looking at the pictures and as stated above this can accelerate the oxidation of the rubber.

I would need to advise you to have the tyres removed as from the images the wear appears to be almost down to the carcass.

Unfortunately, in this circumstance the cracking is not down to a manufacturing defect, and the tyres would therefore not be considered a warrantable item."

So looks like I would simply need to change the brand.
