So, we know now that Regto had a part of the watchmen series, the book, and thanks to tamsy, we know it's able to alter and erase the memories of others.

So hear me out on this.

If regto and Alto knew each others and maybe were trusted enough for Alto to give him a part of the watchmen series and his own son, why wound Regto talk so badly about him ? Early in the manga, he openly states that Alto abandoned Rudo, mutilated his hands, was a murderer, etc.

So my theory is that maybe Regto used his book to alter his own memories for some reasons. The question is, what would be so important that he had to erase it from his memory.

Maybe it's related to the Watchman back in the border or something else.
