I posted a few days ago asking if my dress was fixable after alterations messed up the bust. I went in for my third “final fitting” yesterday and this is the dress after the “master seamstress” worked on it. They narrowed the straps and replaced the existing cups with push-ups. You can see one pin where they are going to tack down the lining to try and address the bunching. The dress is being steamed today with pickup tomorrow. Wedding is in 2 weeks.

I’m planning to call the studio today to discuss a partial refund. A very honest review will be posted. Debating if it’s worth going to another seamstress or if that risks making things worse.

My wedding is in 3.5 weeks and I am going back for my fourth (!) alterations appointment next week. I tried on my dress (last pic) in September and ordered one size up because it was VERY tight. The dress arrived (fourth pic) in late January. The dress did not lay completely flat over the right chest or along the mesh panel but I was told that was a steaming issue. The person doing my alterations, said it would be very simple (famous last words) and I would probably only need one appointment to shorten the straps, hem/bustle the dress, and take in the waist a tad. Well, I went back for the second fitting and the seamstress went to get their boss as soon as they saw me in it. I don’t have photos from that visit but the head of alterations completely opened up some of the seams while I was wearing the dress to pull and pin things. I went back for my third fitting (the first three pics) and it was better than before but still had issues. This isn’t one of those things where the camera is angled oddly or I’m moving in the dress. The gaps are always there. Some of the seams do not lay flat. The mesh is wavy on one side (but not the other) which they blamed on me having uneven shoulders. It looked better by the time I left, and I’m hopeful that it will be back to my “dream dress“ when I go for my last fitting next week. It just sucks knowing that I spent so much money on a dress that I would not buy if I tried it on in the store. The most important thing is that I’m marrying the love of my life… but I’m wondering if I should trust to process or try to find a backup dress “just in case.”

Edit to add - thank you for all the reassurance. The dress already has cups sewn in and the third pic shows it with the dress pressed and shoulders taken up a smidge more. I‘ve started researching other seamstresses in the area and will take it to someone else after the next fitting.
