Attracting Private Pay Clients
For those of you who don’t accept insurance, how do you attract private-pay clients? Do they typically stay longer term, or is it more short-term therapy? What niches have helped you stand out?
I currently see a mix of private-pay and insurance clients, but most of my caseload uses insurance. I do a lot of trauma work and use modalities including ACT, CBT, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and EMDR. I also work with clients ages 7+.
I’m open to additional trainings, modalities, or even incorporating coaching if it makes sense. I’d also love insight into what therapists are charging for private pay. My rate is $150/session, and I’m located in Arizona.
I’m a masters level therapist with 14 years of experience.
