What’s one tip/advice you wish someone told you earlier?
Currently training for my first TCS New York City Marathon and realizing marathon training is a whole different world mentally and physically. I’m still pretty new to running seriously and recently learned the hard way not to underestimate hills after aggravating some knee bursitis from a hilly Central Park 5K 😅 so now I’m trying to train smarter, not just harder.
Would love to hear:
- advice you wish you got earlier
- biggest beginner mistakes to avoid
- recovery tips that made the biggest difference
- things that helped you stay consistent mentally during training
Especially interested in anything that helped newer/slower runners build endurance without getting injured.
