Hi there, my one year old recently experienced a flare up that resulted in weeping eczema around her neck due to excessive scratching. I usually apply Vaseline to her, but I stopped yesterday because she was extremely irritated and had a fever. Today, she woke up with her skin no longer weeping but instead dry and flaky.
I’m wondering if I should apply a cream, lotion, or ointment to her now that I read online that this is the healing stage or should I continue to leave it alone? We visited the doctor yesterday and were prescribed more steroid creams, but I’m trying to avoid them as much as possible. While they provide relief, they tend to cause the eczema to recur. It’s a temporary solution, but I’m looking for a more permanent solution.
