in DS2, we are introduced to 11 "new" gods:
Nehma, Goddess of Love
Caitha, Goddess of Tears
Galib, God of Disease
Kremmel, God of Struggle
Evlana, Goddess of the Hunt
Hanleth, Goddess of Bliss
Nahr Alma, God of Blood
Zinder, God of Desire
Quella, God of Dream
Caffrey, Goddess of Fortune
Faraam, God of War
those deities were seemingly absent from the Anor Londo pantheon, and the description of the name-engraved ring reveals them to have been known by different names in the past:
> There are countless vestiges of long-lost gods in the ruins of Drangleic. Or perhaps they are the very same gods as ours, only known by different names.
I think the wording here is a bit awkward in the english version, the original says:
> いまある神々も、かつては違う名で
translates to something like:
> Even the gods that exist now were once known by different names
This opens the possibility that those "gods" are actually characters from DS1, just known by different names in Drangleic - like how Greek gods have different names in Rome.
I'll quickly throw out some of the more popular interpretations of who's who, I won't provide really detailed explanations here though so this post won't be too long
Nehma = Fina: goddesses of love
Caitha = Velka: associations with darkness, intelligence, Carim, New Londo, the painted world
Galib = Nito: associations with disease & death, specifically the undead crypt
Evlana = Pharis: perhaps the most obvious one, same hat and bow, also Evlana is specified to be a deified human
Hanleth = Gwynevere: Hanleth is actually the goddess of *blessings* (祝福の神) which Gwynevere was known for giving out more than any other god
Nahr Alma = Priscilla: scythes that build up bleed
Zinder = Frampt/Kaathe: associations with snakes and greed
Quella = Gwyndolin: blue sentinels have the spirit tree shield, and Gwyndolin's name means "white ring" while Quella has a white ring associated with him
Faraam = firstborn: gods of war, depicted fighting archdragon on helmet, associated with lion knights, lightning weaponry and urns
Kremmel = ?
Caffrey = ?
(haven't been able to find anything compelling for the last two unfortunately:/)
I don't agree with all of those fully, so of course, I'm interested in hearing your thoughts as well!!
