When should I upgrade as a beginner ?
Hey all, I’ve been practicing photography for like 1.5 years - beginner currently exploring camera modes and learning the fundamentals of photography, including exposure settings ( Pentax mx for films, Olympus xz-1 for street / landscapes and travel / old Sony alpha for practicing the different settings)
I’ve been enjoying it a lot but starting to see the limits of my cameras, especially on my compact Olympus (from 2011)
I’m seriously considering investing in a new one, but the vast range of offers is quite confusing. Budget is around €2000 for the moment & I shoot mainly street and landscapes + wanna explore portraits.
At my level, do you recommend investing in a new compact (like Ricoh or entry level Fuji - or others if you have recommendations) or waiting for a bigger budget in a few years ? I don’t want to rush the process if it won’t actually help me grow as a photographer.
