Requesting time off

Good morning! I am and RBT who wears braces. This means I will need maintenance on my teeth periodically. Upon onboarding this was expressed to them on about three occasions. On all three occasions, each employee expressed that they could work around it. These appointments are very brief no longer than an hour. It's almost a week and a half leading up to the appointment, I bring it up, and the supervisor says, “You’ll have to put it in the portal and keep checking if it's approved. Our scheduler is only in on Fridays.” Check if it's approved? Ma'am, it's about to be one less employee here because why on earth would you think I would mess up going to see my ortho when y'all agreed that these appointments wouldn't be a problem upon hire? I've faithfully been to every appointmentent leading up to two years. I work full-time so the schedule is rigid, and my office is closed by the time I get off. That's is why I reiterated to them countless times how important these appointments are to me. Should I quietly be looking for a more flexible position? I ask this because I have a handful adjustments left up until winter, and if this company is giving me grief about one adjustment, I don't want to see what I’ll have to go through when I request to have off for another adjustment. You can see I have braces clear as day BTW. Am I overreacting?

Dilemma

I have an ongoing orthodontic treatment plan through November that requires occasional appointments, which I disclosed at hiring. How does your team typically handle scheduling for something like that? The scheduler is acting as if this appointment will need to be approved. It is a non-negotiable whether I go to this appointment or not. Should I quietly be seeking employment at a more flexible clinic? The adjustments to my braces aren't go going to just halt themselves and if they're acting like this about an appointment I mentioned before being hired, I can imagine how they're going to react to me scheduling my next adjustment. I can't be thrown off my plan because they can't allow me a brief appointment to have my braces tightened. It's not like they don't see me wearing braces every day.
