So , I already know I’m going to get a bunch of comments saying how stupid it would be to buy a car and put no downpayment , especially because of my credit being bad. High interest, more money spent in the end, blah blah
Blah. I already know these things. But I was rear ended and my car was totaled and I can’t afford to keep renting off Turo, but I also don’t have anything I can put for a downpayment and I can’t save any up because I NEED a vehicle to get to work, the bus is not an option unfortunately, and so all my extra money weekly that I should be saving for a downpayment goes towards stupid high Turo rental prices.
Also my credit is bad- low 600s to mid/high 500s depending on where I’m getting the score from. But it’s not from anything bad. I have 3 credit cards but they’re all under 7 months , one is like a month. And that’s it. I have no other accounts of any kind, no other debts, and a “fair” amount of hard inquires atm. So it’s just the age of my credit and the lack of different accounts with my not ideal amount of hard inquires. My payment history, what little is there, is all 💯. I know if I just keep using my cards responsibly my credit will eventually rise but that will take months, if not a year, not get it to a point where it’s considered a decent or good score.
Sooooo all that being said, if anyone knows of a place where I am able to buy a car with no money down and bad credit in the Austin or central Texas area PLEASE let your girl know. I can’t afford 700-1000 monthly for Turo anymore. I would happily pay 500 or less to have a vehicle of my own. I don’t care if I’m paying a lot more in the end this way. It’s my only option.
