I've been in the mood for a field watch lately. The Hamilton Khaki I was fortunate enough to buy back in 2002 has long since seized and these days I'm not in the mood to pay for a service. So instead I bought this July 2000 vintage guy on eBay. The strap it came with smelled of cigarette smoke, so I cut down a 20mm brown leather band to fit in this 18mm watch. I'll wear it around for a while. But holy cow this guy's loud. I thought the base metal case and mineral glass would help. Nope. I can hear this guy banging away across the room (at least in my good ear).
