In Age of Hannibal (2025 edition)in the section on ruses, under Stratagems (page 15) it says:

Stratagem cards are used during the game, at the start of the first turn. Each one specifies when it must be used. Once it's effects is realised, discard it: you cannot use that Ruse again during that game.

There seems to be a tension that Stratagem cards are both used at the start of the first turn and each one specifies when it must be used.

Could someone clarify what is meant! I'm new to Ruses, and while I have ideas, I don't actually understand what's meant to happen 😊

Am I meant to play the Stratagems on the first turn? Or does it mean to reveal them on the first turn...or just I can play them from the first turn onwards?
