I heard about this at the earth day fair at UCo recently and wanted to spread it around a bit. Parks & Rec is holding a Bioblitz at Arcadia Lake next month, May 29th-May 30th! Entry to the park will be totally free for the event, and all activities are free. Camping overnight does still cost, though! $8 per person.

Bioblitzes are citizen science events where people go out into parks and wild areas and gather data about the species there using programs like iNaturalist. It's a really cool way to help biologists. They're going to have a bunch of professors and researchers from OK universities and colleges come out and lead guided hikes. There'll be nocturnal insect experts, botanists, a monarch program, and more!

The more people come out to these things, the better they work. Take it as an excuse to wander the park for free if nothing else!
