Accutane Purge after 4 months, just got upped to 30mg + prednisone. Is this normal? Feeling Hopeless:(

I’m really struggling right now.

First pic: Before Accutane. My skin was always irritated and clogged, with a pimple here and there so I went to see a doctor and was prescribed accutane on low dosage 10mg

Last pic: Today, after 4 months. So much worse than when I started.

My dosage history (58kg)

· 10mg for 9 weeks

· 20mg from week 9 until now (end of month 4)

· Today my doctor upped me to 30mg + prescribed prednisone to help with inflammation.

I’m regretting starting Accutane. I’m depressed, my confidence is gone, and I can barely leave the house.

My questions for you all:

  1. Is it normal to still be this much worse at month 4?
  2. Has anyone else been prescribed prednisone mid-treatment for severe purging?
  3. Does this get better, or should I be worried my derm isn’t handling this right?

Any advice or similar experiences?
