Just wanted to share my journey, it was a hard one at first, but it’s looking much better now.
The first photo is before op, second is straight after (about 2 hours), and then the rest are up to now (2 weeks post op)
I had extreme swelling and bruising for the first week, the second week it went down loads!

I did not ice, did not take anything except paracetamol for the first few days, I used a peri bottle to rinse and then I dried with a fan.
My surgeon told me not to ice (especially in the first week)

I have had no complications (infection/splitting wise) , that yellow area did scare me however it had no smell and wasn’t like a thick puss, it was just healing fluid.

My surgeon doesn’t perform CHR however she did cut the sides of my CH slightly where it was just loose skin. (Where the CH and labia connect)

When the right side first swelled up I went in the next day and my surgeon had a look, because I wasn’t in much pain she didn’t think it was a hematoma, however she did make the decision to open my stitches again to double check that there was nothing wrong and luckily there wasn’t.

I had local anaesthesia, the injections were quite painful, but bare- able😭. However the second time I went in so she could open the stitches, she had to inject the anaesthesia again…. that fu*king hurt, but I’m glad she made sure nothing was wrong.

I am now starting to heal really well, some of my dissolvable stitches have come out, I have no pain whatsoever, however it was really itchy and “zappy” for a few days around day 8, but that was more annoying than anything.
I can now walk properly, (no more penguin walk lol).
There’s still quite a bit of swelling especially on the top.
It also looks like I have no labia as the swelling makes it look more flush, but I’m excited to see the swelling go down so that I can see the proper shape.

I asked for a more conservative trim, I didn’t want no labia at all as I know I’d look too “top heavy”.
However I got this surgery mainly for practical reasons so even if I do look “top heavy” it doesn’t bother me.

I hope this gives hope and reassurance to any other ladies that have bad swelling/bruising like mine.
Please don’t worry, ask your surgeon of any worries/questions,and take it easy x
