How tf am i supposed to have a high rate in stow if all i get is big boxes???

so yesterday was 3rd official day on the floor. i know as a new hire theyre pretty lenient with the rate but yesyesterday i kept getting all big boxes and every pod i got could fit ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! so i skipped and obviously my rate went down. what are some tips u guys have? because when i had small items i actually reached 200 at one point so i know im capable of reaching rate (manager said it was 250 but he also said he doesnt really care about rate, some of my others managers i met look like they do but anyways) and probably with time ill get quicker too right? im just worried that some day they’ll tell me im going too slow but i only have slow rate when its big boxes
