Power system
Aether - The fundamental force of all of reality, created by the Monarchs. It is considered to be the building block of all reality. Theoretically, anything is possible via aether, given someone has enough understanding or control over it. Aether can be used to power several advanced structures, when manipulated it can be transmuted into objects or elements. At extreme levels of understanding, higher ranked mystics can manipulate the fundamental laws of reality, including space and time, though this is forbidden unless sanctioned by a Monarch.
Mystic - A mystic is anyone who has been trained to manipulate aether for combative purposes. Mystics are split into seven ranks or stages ascending in power. (Names subject to change) Adept -> Elite -> Regent -> Master-> Avatar -> Calamity -> Myth.
These ranks are based off of a mystics aetheric control and understanding of aether, two factors which are almost always the determining factor to aetheric output and capability.
Nether - Nether is simply aether that has been corrupted by the Abyss. Nether is dangerous in the fact thag any non-abyssal entity that attempts to manipulate it without the correct tools is almost guaranteed to go mad or damn themselves to Hell. For this reason, Nether is forbidden within Aureth. If detected any Vigil member is mandated to kill on sight or worse, direct imperception from a Monarch.
Ki - Life force. All living beings on Aureth have Ki but only humans can manipulate Ki. On the brink of extinction and after a millenia of being enslaved, some humans developed the ability to manipulate Ki, preventing their imminent extinction. Ki isn't as flashy as aether and is separated into Circles or spheres.
Circles/spheres - Humans naturally have 13 spheres around their spiritual bodies. Upon being pushed to the absolute limit, humans can break the thirteenth sphere, unlocking the ability to manipulate ki. Upon the destruction of a sphere, a human will notice an increase in mental and physical performance. Subsequent destruction of spheres results in an increase in life force/ki which causes them to gain several upgrades including; Enhanced physical strength, faster mental processing speeds, increased lifespan, etc.
