Hi everyone,

I'm a road cyclist planning to get an iPhone 17 and Apple Watch Series 11 combo soon. I usually go on long rides and I need to know if the battery can survive a 10-hour session (100% to 0%) under these specific conditions:

  • Sensors: An external Bluetooth cadence sensor will be paired to the watch.
  • Usage: I will use the 'Mirroring' (Live Activity) feature to view my data on the iPhone screen.
  • Display: 'Always-On Display' (AOD) and 'Wake on Wrist Raise' will be OFF. The watch screen will remain dark most of the time.
  • GPS/HR: Active heart rate and GPS tracking through the native Workout app.
  • Connectivity: Non-cellular model (connected via Bluetooth to the phone). No LTE.

One more detail: During short breaks, I can charge the watch for 5-10 minutes using a power bank or via the phone's port.

Under these settings, do you think it's possible to reach the 10-hour mark comfortably? I’m trying to avoid dedicated bike computers as I need a watch that is also great for daily use. Any long-distance riders here who have tested this? Thanks!

Hi everyone, I’m planning to upgrade my phone and watch in a few months and I’m currently torn between two setups: an iPhone 17 with an Apple Watch Series 11, or a Samsung S series flagship with a Huawei Watch GT 6 Pro. Which combo do you think performs better specifically for cycling? I’m particularly interested in the feature that allows you to mirror real-time data from the watch to the phone screen, essentially using the phone as a bike computer. I know this works seamlessly on Apple, but I have no idea how it performs on the Huawei/Android side, or if an iPhone + Huawei pairing is even a viable option for a cyclist. While I love the Apple Watch in every other aspect, the battery life is my main concern; I need the watch to last at least 10 hours on a single charge (100-0%) with GPS and Bluetooth active while paired with a cadence sensor. Huawei seems superior for sports and battery, but I’m not a fan of its UI and design for daily wear. For those who do long rides: will the Apple Watch Series 11 let me down on a 10-hour trek, or should I go with the more sports-focused Huawei despite the design?
