mercy petal rez interaction for u/LelsTired
hey everyone! i saw a post asking about the interaction between mercy’s rez and lifeweaver petal. i wanted to show this clip from a few days ago, hopefully it helps. this was a comp game that i queued solo (but the random lw understood the assignment!) my understanding are as follows:
- the petal itself does not raise the soul. you can see in the video that the petal does not raise until a character (mercy) triggers it. my GA makes sure that i land on the petal, this allowed me to safely rez the soul in the sky.
-the petal needs to be placed under the soul BEFORE mercy casts rez. if you place it after she begins the animation, there is a chance that she could be lifted up too far out of cast range. this also provides immediate cover to safely rez without as much risk of taking damage.
-you can use the “attack with me” ping to encourage your mercy to rez on the petal. this worked during my game, it was clear what was happening and allowed us to execute the idea quickly.
-mercy has to stay on the petal during the rez animation. the petal lifts quite high, so staying on the petal provides cover and prevents the risk of the rez range breaking.
-the petal stays lifted up once the soul is rezzed. so your teammate will have temporary cover. be careful as the enemy will likely focus their fire towards the rezzed teammate. it is probably best practice to save grip to safely re-position your mercy/rezzed teammate afterwards in case you need it.
