First time watching

I am 29 years old and I've been watching anime since 2012-2013ish.

For various reasons I stopped watching anime around covid. I just felt like there wasn't an anime out there that could satisfy me. Be it shonen , horror , comedy , whatever.

All these years I've never seen or heard about Haibane Renmei. Not in lists , not in youtube channels not from people nothing.

Today I was browsing movies at a local website and I saw a complete blue ray. The cover art with Rakka peaked my interest immediately. She seemed so melancholic and a bit scared.

Luckily for me I found the entire series as a 4 hour upload on youtube and sat down and watched it and boy of boy was I reminded what it's like to watch a good fucking anime.

The parts that are supposed to hit you hit me hard. Very much so. I also very very briefly brushed over the fan theories but I don't really want to demystify everything.

So I'll keep some distance and hopefully revisit it at a later time with a friend or partner. Definitely a must watch that I'll be recommending to everyone I can.
