After all the negativity lately, am I the only one who is actually quite optimistic about this summer?
Yes, this Premier League season has been frustrating, but we still had a decent European run, and I honestly think this summer could be a really positive reset for us.
We probably do need to move a few players on. Gordon has not looked quite right recently, and if Tino is as injury-prone as he has been, then it makes sense to cash in if the right offer comes in. Willock also looks like one who may move on, and to be fair, he's done his job and it's probably time.
I still think some of last summer’s signings can come good too. They are not all perfect, but they should still be improvements in terms of squad depth and overall quality compared to where we were before.
A few fresh faces could make a massive difference, and even without Champions League football, I still think we can have a strong season next year. A couple of backroom additions would be a welcome change too.
There's a lot of change coming, and that is why I think it makes sense to give Howe another season and let him steady the ship.
