Airline Pilots who are Lawyers?

Hey all,

Im an incoming freshman under the University of Oklahoma’s flight program. Im coming in with 45 college credits from HS so have some room to study for the LSAT. Ive always been interested in Law and am looking into pursuing Law School part time while flying at an airline in the future and becoming a part time attorney.

Are there any airline pilots who work as part time attorneys out there? Is the extra income worth the time spent? Is this even practical?

For some context, the first 6 years or so of your career you work about 15-18 days a month. After that, it can be more like 12-14. Schedules can be irregular but after 5+ years of seniority you are able to control the days you fly with a decent amount of certainty. Of course, some days you will have to fly unexpectedly if on call.

Secondary/Part-time careers for Airline Pilots?

Hey all,

Im an incoming freshman at the University of Oklahoma under their flight program with the major of Professional Pilot. I understand that this degree means almost nothing outside of the purpose of flying, but unfortunately this is the major you are forced to choose if you want to participate in the flight program. With that said, Im coming in with 45 college credits from high school, and should be able to graduate in 2.5-3 years so I have some room to double major.

What are some careers that Airline Pilots do part-time when they are not flying. Half to over half the month off is a lot of time, and I want to make use of that time to maximize potential income. I want to establish a sort of exit door for myself if I ever need to leave aviation due to AI, furloughs, etc. I understand that the airline industry is volatile, and although I love flying, I dont want to have to be married to it.

Any advice? My interests outside of flying primarily lie within Finance, Law, Real Estate, but open to anything that provides stability.

Hello,

Im a high school senior who took about 8 community college courses at 2 different colleges for credit (To knock some gen eds out before the fall), my question is, will they use my community college transcript for anything else except determining if I can transfer my courses? Or will the grades I got in those gen ed classes transfer as well? Do I essentially start at OU with a clean slate (I had a few 80s in some of these courses).

Thanks.
