Male behavior around females

I’ve still been looking to add guinea pigs to my family. I have found an adorable and seeet boy at my local shelter. He would be housed in the same room as my girls but in a different cage. The plan would be to get him neutered and then introduce another female to him. He will have to wait 2 months before the vet will consider neutering him because he is young. I’m worried in that time he will hurt himself out of frustration because he can’t get to the girls to mate. The girls have a top on their cage so he wouldn’t be able to get into theirs. Is this a possibility? I’ve heard that they will self injure out of frustration. My second question is will his need to mate settle down after neutering? I have a temporary cage with a top that I can keep him in until surgery but I want to permanently house him in a much bigger cage with no top. But if his desire to climb out and mate won’t settle down after surgery I won’t be able to safely do this. For clarification he will eventually get a little female to bond with after neutering.

I’m pretty positive my girl has ringworm on her ears. Yesterday they looked fine and tonight they were real red with rings. I’m going to take her to the vet but they don’t open until Monday at 8am. Will she be okay over the weekend without treatment?

I have two girls that I adore but I have found out guinea pigs are addictive! I really want an Abby baby and I found one from a place called critter love in Texas. My first concern is that even though they say they will ship, I live in NC and it’s about 18hours. I don’t want the baby to get sick or terrified. My second problem is I have girls and the baby is a boy. I don’t know if I want to get him neutered and then introduced to the girls once he’s a little bigger. Neuter him and get him his own girl friend. Or just get him another boy. Or I could let him live in a cage in the same room as the girls so he can still hear and speak to them. Any recommendations on which is best? I am worried about ruining my girls bond by introducing him. I also don’t want to go the two male route and they start fighting because they can smell the girls. Does anyone know anything about critter love? Has anyone had a guinea pig shipped to them? What combo should I do with keeping him from being lonely?
