Ohio Medicaid lien negotiation
My probate for my mother's estate is almost complete , medicaid has sent a bill roughly 112,000 ,along with 10k in property taxes that I was aware of, the realtor wants to list home at 130k that with fees I'm just breaking even.Lawyer said they could for additional fee negotiate a lower amount on the lien from medicaid , but that decision was up to me. My question is how realistic is they could actually lower the amount from medicaid or is this just a waste of time money?
For reference my mother was never in a nursing home passed at my home ,all of the Medicaid bills are from a heart surgery , diabetes medication and cancer treatments.
