Which would be the best for 2 weeks in Europe and travelling between Amsterdam/Belgium/France/Switzerland/Italy/Croatia via bus/train?

I'm planning to travel from Amsterdam to Belgium, stay one night, and continue on to Paris the following day.

I would like to explore a little bit of Belgium, but would also not like to veer too far away from the train / bus station where I arrive / leave from.

I haven't finalized whether I'll be traveling by bus or train, so please advise as to which city / location you think would be best for my one night for a tourist wanting to get a quick taste of Belgium 😊

Are there any that are at least 50 inches when full size, and under 13 inches when packed up and compact?
