Why do Venezuelans get so much hate in the USA and Latin America?

This is something I’ve noticed a lot online lately. It feels like Venezuelans receive a different level of hate compared to many other immigrant groups, both in the U.S. and across Latam.

I understand that large-scale immigration can create problems:

• pressure on jobs and housing
• crime concerns
• bad experiences with some migrants
• governments failing to manage migration properly

But sometimes it feels like people generalize millions of Venezuelans because of viral videos, politics, or the actions of a small group.
