Knee injury
I injured my knee a couple weeks ago (not really sure how) and I noticed it during a yoga class. I just thought it was nothing major and made it through. I skipped classes the rest of that week, rested, iced, took ibuprofen and felt totally fine by the end of the week. That weekend I did some yard work and my knee was killing me later that night. Rinse and repeat another week or so with the no classes and rest. Last night it was hurting quite a bit, so this morning I went to an orthopedic urgent care. I got x rays and they said I likely have some osteoarthritis and my hamstrings are tight (which is news to me, I don’t really struggle with any poses…). Anyway, I have to follow up with PT when they open Monday and he said no yoga until I’m evaluated by then. Cut to me crying in my car and texting my teacher 😭 Yoga has been a big part in getting my mental health right and I’m in a stressful time at work right now. I go to yin weekly and flow 1-2 times a week. Does anyone have any tips on some things I can do at home without hurting myself more? I am hoping I can at least go to yin and just modify or skip and poses that mess with my knee. I’m also worried about how stiff and sore I am going to get from the lack of yoga. I’m trying to stay as active as I can in the meantime.
