My male giant playing with my female mini

My giant is 11 months old and my mini is 4 years. He absolutely adores her, he’s so gentle with her when they play. She mothers him and has taken care of him since he was a little pup.

Just love schnauzers

I bought a used rav 4 a few months ago. It’s the D4D 2010 2.2 diesel manual.

A week into owning it it started struggling with acceleration. It doesn’t die per se it just almost like has no pull to accelerate? My foot will be on the floor and it’s slowly slowly climbing.

It’s a nightmare on a hill as it proper slows down. It had no lights or faults.

First thing I did was change the air filter - no affect.

Fast forward to a load of googling and I read that the SCV valve may be the issue. I have now replaced this with a brand new one. Instantly the car seemed better, it was flying down the roads. After a few drives the issue has come back but now the engine management light comes on and “check 4x4 system”.

When I plug the code reader in it gives code P1229.

I’m at a loss of what to do next, my current mechanic is on holiday and is back in 2 weeks, I won’t take it to anyone else. I have checked the figment and it’s spot on, everything is fitted perfectly.

Any ideas? My next change is going to be the fuel filter.

I would add I use this car to tow a caravan, I’ve done it once and Jesus Christ it was hair raising as there’s just no drive. It really struggles up the hills and I have to constantly drop it into 4th sometimes even 3rd to pull. I was assured it would have no issues pulling my little caravan hence why I purchased it. I haven’t towed with it again but I’m getting into dog show season where I need to be taking my caravan!

Thankyou
