Starting a small modest clothing brand in India — beginner advice needed
Hi everyone,
I’m planning to start a small modest clothing brand mainly focused on elegant, minimal, loose-fit outfits for modest/ hijabi women.I’m starting very small through Instagram only, not a store or large production.
I’m starting very small (₹10k–20k budget), currently exploring fabrics locally and looking for reliable tailors for modest/ethnic wear stitching. Planning to start with just 2–4 designs first instead of investing heavily.
Would love honest advice from people who’ve started clothing/fashion businesses : beginner mistakes to avoid, finding good tailors/manufacturers, pricing, dead stock, and whether it’s better to begin with premium or affordable fabrics.
