Meet my new little jumper, Mo

Mo arrived yesterday afternoon and was quite keen for me to get the lid off the deli cup but the minute it came off, they hid in the tissue with their back to me like ‘if I can’t see you, you can’t see me.’ 🤣

Mo’s been beside me for work today so we can chat and get to know each other. They seem to be an Enya fan.

Mo is a 5 instar, not sure if male or female yet, Maratus Griseus.

I’m a joyful and in love, Ma! AIN’T MO SWEET 🥰

Everyone, meet Mo 🥹

Our new little burger arrived yesterday afternoon and was quite keen for me to help them jail break out of the deli cup lid and then the minute the lid came off, they started hiding.

Mo is instar 5, not sure if girl or boy yet. This morning we’ve been stretching and facing the wall like ‘if I can’t see you, you can’t see me.’ 🤣

Bless!

I’m a nervous and joyful Ma atm. Will share more pics when Mo emerges ❤️

Show me photos of your burgers trying to convince you no one fed them breakfast (when you know they did)

My Winnie boy is really trying it on lately… Not realising that text messages exist 😆

Have loved reading through and learning about our beautiful wildlife. A book I’ll pick up again and again with a coffee. Also great to read with kids.

Reading a paper and saw this diagram on the networks impacted in the brain which is easy to read and understand.

I have 3 networks impacted acutely - Motor, Sensory and Cognitive. Although I’m not sure which network my chronic exhaustion fits into.

Keen to hear from others - does this diagram also give clarity to you? How many networks have been impacted for you?

Curious to know if most people have multiple networks impacted or just one, for example 🙏

Why do we need separate portals and log ins to:

- buy tuckshop.
- order uniform.
- book parent teacher interviews.
- manage consent requests for excursions/incursions.
- pay school fees, and other invoices.
- pay for district cross country.
- communicate with teachers.
- everything else and the kitchen sink.

Why can we not have one platform that covers everything nationally? I’m genuinely curious. The multiple platforms is a logistical and administrative nightmare for parents.

I honestly can’t be bothered with this, and having to watch 500 ads to claim the tokens for the pass. I can understand if you’re train obsessed you might love it but I’m here to design and build beautiful cities.

Anyone else?

Well, a couple of months ago my little girl Soda had a mismolt and I was absolutely heartbroken.

Then out of nowhere my son found a jumping spood in our garden that was missing a pedipalp and a leg, and brought him in to me.

I suddenly had a disabled baby spood who I couldn’t leave to die. We named him Griff.

When we first rescued Griff, he was starving and he couldn’t climb and was struggling to get around. Over the last few weeks we have fed and loved him. He grew stronger and started to be able to climb around certain parts of his tank.

It turns out that he grew well enough to activate his 007 Houdini escape artist alter ego because at some the over the past 2 weeks, he escaped his tank undetected.

My plan was to always return him to the garden when he had grown back his limbs, but it seems he had his own plans, and I am happy for him.

Griff was a funny little fellow, who kept me preoccupied while I grieved my girl. Some spoods come into your life for a season, a reason or a life time.

Wherever you are little Griff, I hope you’re happy back on your big adventure.

We have a new little spood (captive bred) on their way to us over the next couple of weeks so I’ll be sure to introduce them once they arrive. I’m so grateful for this journey. Jumping spiders change you in all the best ways.

Thanks to everyone for your support, advice and reassurance so far ❤️
