This is 100% speculation, but I have been seeing some CRAZY ads recently that have me convinced the economy is headed into a nose dive. I keep seeing ads advertising selling, not buying clothes on depop and other sites like that, which is on the tamer side. On the more wild side I have noticed a ton of ads about surrogacy and selling your eggs, and how much money you can make, which is crazy imo.

I got accepted to UCLA from another UC and I am really torn on whether I should go or not. I am in stem, and I love my major, but I got into UCLA for a more specialized version of my major which I am really interested in. I really like it where I am, and I don't know if it is worth it to transfer. For context I intend to go to Grad school, so I know that I need research experience, and really good grades(which I have). I really did not expect to get in and I kept telling myself that I would worry about it if I got in (thinking I wouldnt), but now I actually have to decide. I made a list of pros and cons and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on what to do because I am really unsure.

Pros to Staying:

• Research is way easier to get where I am (and im almost in a lab)
• I already have an industry related internship that is pretty competitive and really useful for what I want to do, and could potentially lead to a job post-grad
• I really like where I am, I feel like I really fit in, and I have a good social life up here
• I have housing for next year so I dont need to worry about that
• Even though they dont have the specialized major here, if I stay here I can still go to grad school for the specialization.

Cons to Staying

• Really the only con I can think of for me is that UCLA is more prestigious

Pros to UCLA

• Its UCLA (duh)
• My family is in LA
• They have the exact major I want (but Im not deadset on it and I am happy with my current major)
• I love westwood and the area

Cons to UCLA

• I would have to uproot my entire life
• I would have to live in the dorms again which I really dont want to do
• Its harder to get research there especially as a transfer student
• I would have to give up my internship
• I would have no friends there and my major is super hard so I might not have a ton of time to socialize
• TBH I dont really want to deal with being a transfer student
• If it transfer there is a very high chance I might not get into a lab, which I feel would be pretty detrimental to my chances of getting into a good Grad school.

Any advice is appreciated because I really dont know what to do.
