How do you voice safety concerns to your supervisor and how do you respond if you feel unsafe at work?

I’m dealing with a situation at work and could use some advice.

There’s a process/test we’re currently performing that I have some safety concerns about. I already brought it up to my supervisor—they acknowledged it and made a few small adjustments, but honestly I still don’t feel safe doing it.

They said a formal risk assessment will be done, but that won’t happen for a few weeks. In the meantime, the expectation seems to be that we keep performing the test as usual.

I’m stuck on what to do next. Do I continue doing the test even though I feel it’s unsafe, or is it reasonable to push back and say I’d rather wait until the risk assessment is completed?

Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you handle it?
