Auto CG MVP — A fast AI caption generator built for creators who are tired of waiting 30 seconds just to get subtitles 😭 I have put the MVP link below⏬

autocg.netlify.app

Been working on a project called Auto CG recently and finally deployed the MVP publicly 👀

Main goal was honestly simple:

>

Most caption tools I tried felt like they constantly slowed down the workflow with:

  • giant paywalls
  • fake “free” exports
  • slow rendering
  • overloaded editors
  • too many clicks
  • signup walls everywhere 💀

So I built something focused mainly on:

  • speed
  • simplicity
  • low friction
  • fast editing workflows

Current workflow is basically:

Upload video -> Generate captions -> Edit -> Export

That’s it 🔥

Current MVP features:

  • AI caption generation
  • editable subtitles
  • timeline-based editing
  • browser export
  • lightweight UI/workflow
  • local processing focused setup

One of the craziest tests so far:

>

A few things still being worked on:

  • caption resizing still has bugs sometimes
  • long/very high resolution videos can occasionally fail during browser export because of browser memory limits
  • still polishing caption styling/export consistency

The app currently uses BYOK (Bring Your Own Groq API Key) to keep the MVP free and insanely fast without forcing subscriptions everywhere.

Would genuinely love feedback from:

  • editors
  • short form creators
  • clipping channels
  • social media people
  • anyone who works with subtitles/captions a lot

Mainly trying REALLY hard to keep this workflow fast and low friction instead of turning it into another giant bloated creator suite 😭

I’m building an AI caption generator called Auto CG focused entirely on speed + low friction instead of bloated editing workflows

Been working on a project called Auto CG recently and honestly the main goal behind it is pretty simple:

make caption generation feel fast and painless again 😭

A lot of subtitle/caption tools right now feel like they’re intentionally designed to slow creators down with:

  • giant paywalls
  • fake “free” exports
  • bloated timelines
  • complicated editors
  • slow rendering
  • too many unnecessary clicks

So I started building something focused mainly on:

  • speed
  • simplicity
  • low friction
  • fast editing workflows

The current MVP workflow is basically:

  1. Upload video
  2. Generate captions in a few seconds using Groq
  3. Edit captions directly in the timeline
  4. Export final video

That’s it 🔥

Current features:

  • AI caption generation
  • editable subtitles
  • timeline-based caption editing
  • FFmpeg exporting
  • mobile-inspired modern UI
  • lightweight workflow focused on short-form creators

Right now I’m mainly polishing:

  • export reliability
  • subtitle styling
  • editing sync
  • overall UI/UX
  • workflow smoothness

Long term I don’t want this to become another giant “AI creator suite” with 40 tabs and overwhelming dashboards everywhere 💀

The goal is more:

>

I’m also experimenting with better monetization ideas because honestly I feel like a lot of creators are getting tired of every single tool instantly forcing another $15/month subscription.

Would genuinely love feedback from:

  • editors
  • short-form creators
  • social media managers
  • people who work with captions/subtitles a lot

Especially:
what currently annoys you the most about subtitle/caption tools?

I built an AI caption generator that makes subtitles insanely fast and doesn’t hit you with a paywall every 5 seconds 😭 so should i make it a website?

Been working on a project called Auto CG recently 👀

Basically it’s a super low-friction AI caption generator/editor for short form videos.

The main reason I started building this was because almost every subtitle/caption app I used felt annoying as hell:

  • fake “free” exports
  • giant paywalls
  • bloated editors
  • slow rendering
  • too many clicks
  • signup walls everywhere 💀

So I wanted to make something that feels:

fast
simple
clean
creator-focused

Current workflow is basically:

  1. Upload video
  2. Generate captions (~3 sec rn using Groq)
  3. Edit captions
  4. Export

That’s it 🔥

It also has:

  • editable timeline captions
  • subtitle editor
  • FFmpeg exporting
  • mobile-style modern UI
  • super lightweight workflow

Still fixing a few bugs rn:

  • export button issue
  • edited words not syncing properly yet

But honestly pretty happy with how it’s turning out so far 👀

so do you guys think i should polish it a bit more and add payments all that maybe?

Would genuinely love feedback/suggestions from creators/editors because I’m trying REALLY hard to keep this low friction instead of turning it into another bloated AI editor 💀

Trying to build a website that solves one real problem.

I’ve realized I keep trying to build giant complex apps/systems that are cool in theory but way too big to realistically finish solo right now.

So now I’m trying to focus on smaller CRUD-ish apps/tools that:

solve an actually painful problem

save real time

make sense as a product

aren’t just another GPT wrapper with a fancy UI 😭

I’ve been reading a lot about workflow friction/context switching/manual repetitive tasks lately, and it feels like THAT is where many real software opportunities are.

So I’m curious:

What part of your workflow genuinely wastes the most time or feels unnecessarily painful right now?

Could be:

  • design
  • coding
  • editing
  • school/work
  • file management
  • research
  • communication
  • content creation
  • anything honestly

And what have you tried already that still doesn’t fully solve it?
