Car help

Hey everyone, I’m honestly just trying to get some outside opinions because I’m super stressed about this. I was in an accident a couple days ago in South Carolina and my car only has about 3,000 miles on it. I literally just got it, so this whole situation sucks. I was making a left turn after yielding to traffic in the actual travel lane. A car had stopped and let me go, so I pulled forward, stopped again, looked right, and then started my turn. Out of nowhere, another driver came through and hit me basically head-on. The issue is that the other driver was not in a real lane. He was driving in the painted median/center area with double yellow lines (not a turning point), basically going around stopped traffic to get to the light faster. That’s where he came from when he hit me. The police report currently has me at fault (which I’m disputing), but there are also errors on it (wrong driver listed, wrong vehicle year, etc.), so I’m going to talk to the officer. Now the part that’s stressing me out even more — insurance is already hinting that my car might be a total loss, and I really don’t understand how. From what I can see: Front end damage (hood bent, bumper, etc.) Airbags deployed Car still looks pretty intact overall to me It doesn’t look completely destroyed, so I’m confused how they could total it, especially since it’s basically brand new.
