I'm a manager, just got asked to put together a short list of tools for our director. we've been running off excel plus a very tired sharepoint site and she wants to modernize. obviously best depends on what you need but i'd love to know what people on this sub are actually using. we care about sox, operational audits, risk assessments, and ideally something with a little ai baked in so we can actually use it in 2026 and not feel like we're back in 2015. any takes on whats worth demoing vs whats overhyped?

ASC 842 keeps coming up as a pain point especially as lease counts grow. Trying to understand if software meaningfully improves things or if it just adds another system to manage

i run a small business and spend most of my day dealing with contracts, invoices, proposals, and random documents clients send in different formats, so i’ve always used word mostly for basic editing and formatting without thinking much about the extra features. recently i discovered it can handle things like pdf conversion, templates, forms, mail merge, collaboration tools, and workflow automation, and it made me realize i’m probably only using a fraction of what it offers. what are some genuinely useful word features or services that people overlook but actually save a lot of time in everyday work?

I’m trying to declutter a pile of old t-shirts. I don’t want to just throw them away, so I’ve been looking into having a quilt made instead. It seems like a good zero-waste option, especially for shirts that are too worn to donate. I’ve come across a few t-shirt quilt companies while searching, but it’s hard to tell which ones are actually good quality and worth it. Some look quite polished online, but reviews are mixed depending on where you look.

Has anyone here used a t-shirt quilt company and been happy with the result? I’d really appreciate honest feedback before I commit.
