This is a “me” problem, but I have to ask, how much time do your pups spend in their crate on a daily basis?

My scenario, I work hybrid, my husband works hybrid, and my mom is retired. Our pup came to us pee pad trained and has no need to wait to go to the bathroom. However we would like for her not to rely on the pads and would prefer that she goes out to do her business. I understand that crate training is the best way to achieve this, but the thought of having my pup in a crate is literally bringing me to tears.

What do you guys do? How did you potty train? I’ve been trying to take her out less often but she’s her own person and just uses pee pad when she wants. Is crate training the only way?

I’m hesitant to risk removing the pads altogether because I’m sure she’ll just try to go on the floor.

So we adopted this little o-month-old thing on Thursday and in that time she’s become firmly bonded to me, and now I’m upstairs in my workspace, she’s on the main floor with my mom whining and crying like she’s lost her best friend. Any suggestions What can we do to get her to accept all of us as her people and not be strictly bonded to me? Help, signed a first time dog mama who’s prepared to quit her job and move into the woods with a little white codependent puffball.

Seriously though, I don’t know how parents do this with human children 😭

Also, don’t mind the tear stains, we’ll work on that once the cone comes off.
