THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS👹: Why after the start of Epoch 19 and Joechit’s thread, the dashboard has lost all credibility
We’ve moved past the April 29th noise, and while some are still arguing over 'conviction' and AI-generated hype, I’ve been looking at the actual data on my screen. Because, as the saying goes, the devil is in the details.
I’ve been running nodes for a long time, and after waking up today to Epoch 19 and cross-referencing Joechit’s findings on multisig activity, I’ve noticed some 'details' that tell a story of inconsistency:
- The "Elastic" Math of Epoch 18: How is it possible that an 'ended' Epoch continues to change its numbers? My Epoch 18 record jumped from 306K to 310K after it was supposed to be closed. If the historical records are retroactive and elastic, the dashboard isn't a ledger; it's just a visual suggestion.
- The Epoch 19 Time Paradox: The dashboard claims we’ve been in Epoch 19 for 9 days, yet the calendar (and the previous Epoch 18 closing date) shows it just started 24-48 hours ago. When the basic time-tracking of a project is broken, transparency becomes impossible.
- Follow the wallets, not the slogans: As Joechit pointed out, the real value is moving on-chain. While we get excited about a 3.00x mobile boost, the multisig is moving bulk tokens to intermediate wallets instead of user-facing claim contracts. We are providing massive infrastructure for 'points,' while the real equity is being organized behind the scenes.
- Self-Reported Truths: Posting graphics about 36% staked supply means nothing when the data is 'self-reported.' In this space, if it can’t be independently verified on the explorer, it’s just marketing fluff.
I’m still connected. My nodes are running because the cost is zero for me right now. But let’s not confuse 'market trust' with 'infrastructure dependency.' Grass is a highly efficient data-extraction machine, but it’s becoming increasingly hesitant to show a consistent, transparent face to its providers.
Welcome to Epoch 19—where the days are longer than 24 hours and the math changes as they go. As Joechit said: follow the wallets, not the slogans.
