Hi everyone! I’m finally finishing my orthodontic treatment and my dentist gave me two options: the classic Hawley (wire) retainers or the clear ones.

The clear ones are significantly more expensive at my clinic. For those who have been wearing retainers for 2+ years:

- Does the plastic actually hold up, or do they crack easily?

- How often are you honestly replacing the clear ones?

- Is the 'invisible' look worth the extra ₱5k–₱10k, or should I just go with the durable wire version?

I'm a bit of a homebody so I don't mind the wire look as much, but I'm worried about comfort since I work night shifts and usually drink a lot of water/coffee during my 'day.' Any advice appreciated!
