I had a pilonidal cyst drainage in June of 2025. Went through the weeks of having my wound packed, then switched to a wound gel to promote healing. Fast forward almost a year and I'm still dealing with an open wound on the incision site and weekly appointments at my local hospital.
The incision was quite deep and I'm fed up with different opinions and being thrown around different specialists. Because of the over granulation they're currently administering silver nitrate sticks to counteract it. I'm coming up on a year now of being immobile, showering 4 times a day to keep the area clean and constantly changing underwear due to the area having a lot of discharge.
