What's the best obscure video game you've ever played?

I'm not talking about the stuff that's got a cult following like Dark Souls 2 or popular weird games like Power Wash Sim. I'm talking about the stuff that's buried in the deep recesses of your mind. An example would be Cloning Clyde on the old 360 store for me. I'm hoping to find some gems that I've overlooked.

Just like the title reads, Marathon is the best shooter I've played in a very long time. I can't stop thinking about it. It's hard, but if you play longer than thirty minutes you begin to understand how to play and then it just blossoms into a masterpiece. The excitement I feel when we extract just in time, or when I get some sweet loot is so good. The cackles I make when I play as Rook and take down a player, stealing their good stuff is unmatched. Bungie made a freaking awesome game here. There's plenty of content, it's balanced, the gunplay is phenomenal, and the gameplay loop is like crack. Sure the art direction isn't for everyone, but even so it's a very good game. Why is it getting so much hate? Have people even tried it? Maybe they were expecting a run and gun shooter like Apex? I honestly don't know or understand.
