I went through the full interview process with Capital One (3 interviews total, last one was a Power Day on 4/20).
After that, I didn’t hear anything for a week, so I followed up on 4/27. The recruiter replied within the hour saying they had to reschedule some things internally and that I should expect an update by the end of that week or by the following Monday.
That timeline passed, but then at the start of this week (5/5), the recruiter actually reached out proactively and said they expect to have a decision by the end of this week or early next week.
So I’m trying to read the situation realistically.
On one hand:
- I haven’t been rejected
- They’re still communicating and even reached out without me prompting
On the other hand:
- It’s been a few weeks since Power Day
- Timeline has already shifted once
Has anyone been in a similar situation with Capital One (or similar companies)?
Is this typically a sign you’re still in the running, or is this more of a soft delay before a rejection?
Trying to figure out if I should stay optimistic or mentally move on at this point.
