I am 26M, I finished my bachelors from tier-3 college in India in 2021. I got a decent job 7-8 LPA in an MNC just after undergrad.
I was good at coding, I tried to go for some product based companies but because of tier-3 college, my resume won't even get sortlisted. I accepted it and thought of overcoming it by switch later.
Howerver, studying abroad was like a very big thing for me and only very bright minds are capable of it, I used to think that people studying abroad and working there after are very well settled.
After 2.5 years, I went for masters in data science in Australia. Data Science because I was already a CSE graduate and wanted to study something new.
Now, after my masters I am looking for jobs - job market is very dull here and they mostly prefer locals. Comparatively, Data Science market is worse than Software Development.
I am scared to go back to india bacause of few reasons:
Loan of the studies.
I feel like I stepped 2 years back in my career. With my previous job I would definitely be around 15-16 LPA.
Data Science Degree worthless - No one in India is gonna hire an entry level Data Engineer with decent package.
I am 26 - it's time to settle in life, get married but I am still struggling and hustling with a loan to pay.
It's not like I am not applying for jobs here in Australia, but even if I do, chance of PR is very very less and then I will have to start again in India after 3-4 years.
I feel like I'm totally lost, wasted my money, time, effort everything.
