I’ve been working at a small design firm for about 4 years. The turnover has always been crazy. The owner is crazy. Pretty much everyone I see around me, has changed over the last couple years. My team has dwindled down to only one person, when I used to have 3 other people. Also, the other person I have is now trying to romance multiple women in the office, and not doing his job. Im doing the job of 4 people, and continually getting more put on my plate. I’m also pseudo running projects, because our project managers are absolute morons.. have had to step into serious accounts to fix fuck ups, and not getting any credit or raise. What do I do? I talked to the owner today, and blew up on him because of being overworked- was told he can’t afford more people, and we don’t have the work to hire more? This is how I make my living, I have no savings, and I’m scared to quit.. I feel the job market is bleak. I however do have a friend who is a recruiter (who knows how much of a hard worker I am), and have considered reaching out to her. What would you do? Have you ever been in a similar situation?
