Hello everyone,

I run a gaming channel and recently it start to grow well, jumping from 200 to 3k and 4k views, also short start to do very well (around 100k). However, it start now to crack and be worse than before, basically starting from the last 3 videos I uploaded.

While those videos has a mass improvement in editing, hook, etc, and they use a new hot trending indie games, YouTube Chose to suggest them to random wide audience that almost has no link to gaming content, leading to terrible CTR and watch time.

My channel is from months and I have over 20 long videos, I use the gaming category, tags and hashtags related to gaming and I include the game name in the title so I can not understand why YouTube decide to do that.

Anyone face the same issue?, maybe have an idea on how to solve this issue, you can see from the photo that I am barley now reaching 500 views

Want to share a personal experience

I have been posted recently because I couldn't figure out the distribution in my channel watch time despite trying for a while different things, then I found something out of nowhere!

With some investigating and luck I noticed an interesting pattern, YouTube suggest my videos mostly for English speakers despite my videos has no English from the language tab

The pattern becomes more clear when I verify, English videos suggestion got me 10 seconds view which make sense and some few that use the correct language got up to 5 or 7 minutes (big difference!)

So in summary, Algorithm appears to keep assuming my content is meant for English speakers just because I tried the YouTube deb feature in the past two times so please avoid this if your channel still small, it is also not worth it quality term on my opinion (I was expecting something better from YouTube)

I want to share this because it really gave me headache and made me dispotiment regard my content quality

Always improve but sometimes try to see the issue from different angle, perhaps it is all about something silly like my issue

My channel start finally to get a good impression with each new video, however it suffers from major issue which is average watch time, it reach bearly 2m for 20m video

I tend to add the most important scenes from the game as hook (ex: the scary moments, etc) and I keep it fast phase following with very short introduction. In addition I cut all boring moments in the gameplay and keep adding funny mems

From the other side, I notice that some videos got many likes and comments from people to request more but still I can't figure despite this the terrible watch time

From your experience what is the source of the issue, what need to be adjusted?
