I’ve spent the last year juggling so many different ideas on what I could try to start building for myself. I’m 25, I’ve been working since I was 17 but only ever really done customer service jobs. I know for a fact I hate customer service, but I don’t have any clue what I would do instead. I hear people talking about finding their “niche” or interests and I just don’t feel like that fits me. I’m currently attending community college to earn an associates degree, but still haven’t picked a degree outside of an Associate of Arts which is just a general degree and I’d like to pick something more specialized. I want to go for a bachelors after, but with me working full time and going to school it’s going to take me forever and I’d like to get out of my current job path sooner than that lol. I also feel like I need to make the right choice the first time with my degree because school is not really super affordable for me and right now I’m on a state scholarship that only covers the associates. I took the summer off to think about what I want to do next, I’m coming up to the point where if I keep taking classes and then switch later the time for my scholarship may run out before I finish. It feels so complicated to pick a degree when many of them can be applied in different fields/specializations. I think most people start with an interest and pick a degree based on that but I feel like I’ve been trying to pick one based on which job title I might want to go for.

I’d like to try and get some outside perspectives and see if it will help me narrow down what I might like (or at least not hate)

How did you figure out what you wanted to do? What type of job do you have and what do you do? What degree (s) do you have? What does a day in your job look like, and do you enjoy it? (As much as one can “enjoy” labor) And if you’re comfortable, what do you make?

I appreciate any responses! Sorry if I sound like a mess, I feel like one
